Balance & Vertigo

What is vertigo and
how can I overcome it?

Vertigo is a specific kind of dizziness-a sense that you, or your environment, is moving or spinning, even though there is no movement. Symptoms commonly felt are lightheadedness, spinning motion, unsteadiness, loss of balance, sensation of floating, and spaciness.
Vertigo is generally brought on by a disturbance in the balance organs of the inner ear called peripheral vertigo. The inner ear has tiny semicircle canals that enable messages to be sent to the brain in response to gravity. By telling our brains when there is movement, we are able to keep our balance and maintain equilibrium. Disturbance to this system therefore produces vertigo.
